Important Ophthalmology Patient Information

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ

When you attend this clinic, please bring the following with you:

  • An up to date and accurate record of all the medication that you are currently taking including medications not prescribed by your doctor.
  • All spectacles that you wear.
  • For Cornea and Cataract Patients - Please make sure you discontinue contact-lens wear prior to your hospital appointments
  • 1 week for soft lenses
  • 2 weeks for hard gas permeable lenses

You may be required to have a number of tests at this appointment. Therefore, please be prepared to spend a few hours at the clinic.

You may have eye drops instilled at the appointment, which will blur your vision for 4-6 hours. It is therefore advised to travel with a friend / relative and DO NOT DRIVE YOURSELF.

Please ensure you read any leaflets enclosed with this appointment letter as they contain important information about your appointment.

CORRIDOR 3 VISUAL FIELD APPOINTMENT Please contact 01792 205666 and ask for Extension 25222 on arrival BEFORE entering the hospital.

  1. West Ward block entrance – left side of main hospital, level 3
  2. Day Surgery unit – opposite side of the road to Main Hospital on Sketty lane
  3. Health & Wellbeing Academy, Swansea University, Singleton Park Campus, Swansea, SA2 8PP.

There is limited parking for the Wellbeing Academy as well as disabled parking directly outside.

Follow Outpatient signs to level 1 Eye clinic

  1. Primary Care Hub (rear of Dyfed Road Surgery) - Dyfed Road, Neath SA11 3AW . Junction 43 off M4

Parking is available. There are also hourly and 2 hourly parking on the road opposite and a Multi-story at the end of the road. There is no reception, so please take a seat in the waiting area as you enter the building.
