Swansea Council Voluntary Service (SCVS)

SCVS are co-ordinating a large-scale voluntary effort to support and signpost patients to the different services available locally across Swansea. They will not be supporting patients who have received a shielding letter, but will be supporting other vulnerable people in local communities. Please follow this link for the SCVS website.

Neath Port Talbot Safe & Well Service – 01639 686868

This is a free service to support vulnerable residents who have been told to self-isolate and don’t have support from family, friends or neighbours. The service can arrange for a trusted volunteer to help with daily living tasks such as food shopping, collecting medical supplies, posting mail and any other reasonable tasks. All the volunteers will have proof of identity and will not ask for any money or bank details.

Carmarthen Council Coronavirus Support Service Number - 01267 234567

Carmarthen are providing additional support. Carmarthenshire businesses and residents throughout the on-going Coronavirus crisis. You can connect to this new service by calling us on 01267 234567. This is available between 8.30am and 6pm seven days a week.

A Ceredigion County Council Gold Command group continues to meet and work with partner agencies including Public Health Wales to prepare and respond to the pandemic. Their ‘Keeping in Touch Service’ can be accessed by phone 01545 570881 or email clic@ceredigion.gov.uk

The Kidney Wales charity have a new Kidney Wales Community Facebook Page which patients can request to join, get support and up to date information.

  • Kidney Wales also have the CanDo Support Page, which can be found on Facebook where young patients can access support from patient advocates and meet other patients online.
