What is Local Primary Mental Health Support Service (LPMHSS)

The Local Primary Mental Health Service, Occupational Therapy (primary mental health) and Psychological Therapies service provide assessment and intervention for adults who are experiencing common mental health problems (such as Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, OCD), or stable severe and enduring mental health problems.

There are two LPMHSS teams within the health board, one based in Central Clinic, Swansea and the other in Tonna Hospital.  

 

How to access our service

We welcome referrals from General Practitioners (GPs) and other Mental Health Professionals.

If you have any urgent concerns regarding your mental health, please contact your GP.

If you feel you need to speak to someone immediately here are some helpful numbers (all are available 24 hours a day & 7 days a week):

  • 111 press option 2 (to speak with a team of mental health professionals in the Health Board)
  • C.A.L.L. (Community Advice and Listening Line) – 0800 132 737 or text help to 81066
  • Samaritans – 116 123
