Congratulations on the birth of your new baby!
We would love to celebrate your new arrival by sharing a picture on our social media accounts. The accounts we use to post them on are Facebook and Instagram. We may also use these pictures on our website and possibly other places like, our annual report.
Please note that pictures may be requested for press and media use.
There is no pressure to take part at all.
We have a member of the health board that visits ward 20 (postnatal ward) on a regular basis to take pictures of some of the babies (with parental consent). These photographs will be posted to social media soon after.
If you miss the photographs in ward 20, you can send us your own pictures on social media or by email.
You can tag us in your pictures on your own social media accounts by using @swanseabayuhb on Instagram, @SwanseabayNHS on X (formally known as Twitter) or @swanseabayNHS on Facebook.
We have a dedicated email address that is used for collecting baby pictures. Use SBU.baybabies@wales.nhs.uk to send them directly to our team. Please remember to include information such as the baby’s name, weight, gender, location.
Why? Images and/or videos of patients, parents/guardians, relatives or staff are sometimes used to promote the work of our hospitals, clinics and services.
Who uses this? The images or videos may be used by the health board or by the press and media.
Where will they go? These will be in the public domain and will be on the internet, which means they can be widely viewed.
The range of places they could be used include: social media, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc, websites, newsletters or annual reports, online news sites or newspapers/magazines. Note: not all images/information may appear on every site, or be used at all.
Can I change my mind? Yes, you can withdraw consent at any time. But please be aware that while we are able to delete images, video and information from our own website and social media sites, we have no control over items which are already in the wider public domain/internet.
Should you wish to withdraw consent so please contact the health board’s communications team: communications.department@wales.nhs.uk. Withdrawing your consent at any time will not affect your relationship with the health board. Please note:
Rydym yn croesawu gohebiaeth a galwadau ffôn yn y Gymraeg neu'r Saesneg. Atebir gohebiaeth Gymraeg yn y Gymraeg, ac ni fydd hyn yn arwain at oedi. Mae’r dudalen hon ar gael yn Gymraeg drwy bwyso’r botwm ar y dde ar frig y dudalen.
We welcome correspondence and telephone calls in Welsh or English. Welsh language correspondence will be replied to in Welsh, and this will not lead to a delay. This page is available in Welsh by clicking ‘Cymraeg’ at the top right of this page.
