I lead the MRI Physics group, based in Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB).
I took on this role in April 2020, after joining Swansea University Medical School in 2012.
The MRI physics team provides clinical scientific support to several organisations in Wales.
As a clinical academic, I am passionate about research, quality improvement and innovation in clinical MRI.
I am a registered clinical scientist, a higher specialist scientist and an accredited MR Safety Expert (MRSE).
I provide highly-specialised training to NHS Wales Trainee Clinical Scientists in MRI as part of the scientific training programme (STP), to radiographers and to radiologists (FRCR) through the Imaging Academy. I also lead on several university modules.
I am driven to support members of the team develop and to develop a centre of excellence for clinical scientific service provision and research.
Quantitative imaging drives my research interests and my main research interests are currently non-Gaussian diffusion-weighted imaging and whole-body imaging. I am a Welsh Crucible alumnus and welcome interdisciplinary collaboration.
