Neck Lump Clinic

Image shows a group of clinicians with an ultrasound machine.

A neck lump can be extremely worrying for anyone and may have several different causes which can be completely benign but also cancerous. The Rapid Diagnosis Centre (RDC) offers a fast and complete package of support and assessment with rapid access to investigations in order to determine the exact cause of the lump.

Within the clinic patients are seen by a specialist head and neck radiologist who performs an ultrasound scan, biopsy if needed and any additional scans with the aim of achieving a fast diagnosis or provide reassurance that nothing concerning has been found. During this whole process the RDC offers nursing care and support.
