We are pleased to say that incidents of flu and other easily spread viruses are beginning to reduce in the Swansea Bay area, so we are able to relax some of the recent visiting and face mask/covering restrictions. Please see below for details before visting.
Visiting
Visiting restrictions have been lifted in Singleton and Neath Port Talbot hospitals, and much of Morriston Hospital. However they still remain in certain areas of Morriston and the in-patient wards at Gorseinon Hospital.
In these areas, listed below, visiting remains strictly limited to *visting with a purpose and must be discussed and agreed with the ward first. If visiting is agreed, you must wear a face covering.
Facemasks/face coverings
The wearing of masks and face-coverings is no longer needed in our hospitals, with the following exceptions where they should continue to be worn:
Masks are available at the volunteers desks at the front entrance to Morriston hospital.
* Visiting with a Purpose allows for one friend or relative to visit a patient under special circumstances. For example, visiting someone who is in the last days of their life, or who has a memory impairment, or who needs a high level of emotional support. In other words, when a visit is considered crucial for a vulnerable patient’s wellbeing. This must be agreed in advance with ward staff, and visiting is restricted to one hour a day.
This information on this webpage will be updated regularly, so please check here before visiting.
