The care given to two dads whose lives were saved following heart attacks inspired their grown-up children to raise money for Morriston Hospital.
“Everybody says they can’t believe how well he is,” said Rhodri Phillips, 35, of dad Myrddin Wynne Phillips, 76, known as Wynne, who spent eight weeks in the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU).
Rhodri and Wynne returned to the hospital to present a cheque for £4,263 to the team, pictured above.
“It was something to say thank you and it’s very much appreciated for bringing dad back to us,” said Rhodri, from Carmarthen, who raised the money by taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon in October.

Cheryl Mainwaring, 42, ran the Richard Burton 10k in November in under an hour, raising £750 for the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
Her dad John Evans, 66, had a quadruple heart by-pass operation earlier this year after being taken ill.
With the help of the Baglan Bombshells rugby team, who ran alongside her, Cheryl smashed her target of £300.
“They were all fantastic,” she said of the hospital staff.
“He is doing well and is back playing golf. It was very emotional going back there (the CCU).”
