Gynaecology procedure offered closer to home to help cut waiting times

Patients waiting for a gynaecology procedure called a ring pessary refit now have the option to undergo the procedure closer to home.

To help cut waiting times, the procedure, which helps manage symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse, is now able to be carried out in several GP practices across Swansea Bay.

Patients can choose to have their appointment at a GP practice within their cluster or stay on the waiting list to be seen in a hospital setting.

If you are currently on the waiting list, you will be contacted by a GP practice participating in the project.

It may not be the practice you are registered with but it will be a practice local to you, based within your cluster.

Once contacted by the practice, you can tell them how you would like to proceed with your appointment.

Follow this link to our cluster page where you can find more information and see which other GP practices are in your area.
