It’s never been easier to get a Covid-19 vaccine in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
Swansea Bay University Health Board has opened up its first dose drop-in sessions to everyone aged 16 and over.
Previously, these sessions were limited to those aged 18 to 39. But due to increased supply, the health board is now able to offer everyone aged 16+ visiting a Mass Vaccination Centre drop-in session a first dose of Pfizer vaccine.
Dr Keith Reid, Director of Public Health at Swansea Bay University Health Board, said: “Our teams are still working hard to ensure all eligible people get vaccinated in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
“Due to increased supply, we are opening up our drop-in sessions to everyone aged over 16 in the area, and will be offering each person who attends the Pfizer vaccine.
“The drop-ins are an easy and convenient way to get vaccinated.
“If you have not had a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine yet – for any reason - I encourage you to attend one of the advertised sessions.
“The virus has not gone away and vaccination is one of the best ways for us to protect ourselves, our family and friends.”
First dose drop-in sessions will be taking place at the Bay Field Hospital and Margam Park Orangery Mass Vaccination Centres at the following dates and times this week:
Bay Field Hospital –
The Orangery, Margam Park –
From Thursday 19th August, the Mass Vaccination Centre drop-in sessions will also be open to anyone who needs to have their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine too.
Please note, to be eligible for these sessions, eight weeks must have passed since receiving a first dose.
Go to this page on our website for all first and second dose drop-in vaccination sessions from w/b 16 August onwards. New dates will be added to this page as they are confirmed.
Appointments are not needed to attend any of Swansea Bay UHB’s drop-in sessions, people can simply turn up on one of the dates advertised.
It’s not necessary to go to the Mass Vaccination Centre that’s closest to home either – people can go to the one that’s most convenient for them. Whether it’s on the way home from work, while out and about, or ahead of catching up with friends and family.
We understand that some people may not be fans of needles or perhaps find the whole idea of queuing up rather stressful, so we have put a dedicated team together to help overcome any trepidation.
We can arrange for visitors to bring someone along with them for support; to meet individuals and fast track them through the whole process; or vaccinate them in their car.
Anyone who needs extra support is asked to let us know before visiting by calling our booking line on 01792 200492.
